The Centre conducts five-day IRTPLA (INFLIBNET Regional Training Programme on Library Automation) for the benefit of IT/LIS professionals across the country in collaboration with universities, wherein local language is used for effective communication. Registration fee is not charged from the participants, since the Centre provides financial assistance to universities to hold the programme. The programme covers various aspects of ILMS Software, both theory and practical, required for implementation of automation and networking of the libraries. The Centre also conducts Workshop in collaboration with universities on open source software to equip participants with skills for developing and managing their own digital collection and also to create awareness in new developments in the field of library and information science like managing information sources in a digital environment, building institutional repository, using networking and social media, management of e-resources, latest development and trends in LIS.
